As I sat and read Window Seat with its extraordinarily beautiful photographs, I felt like I was sitting next to Julieanne on one of her many flights on a commercial airliner and was experiencing the rapturous beauty of the topography of the earth through her eyes with its sinuous rivers, stark highways, undulating mountains, vibrant geometric fields, and all the other natural beauty visible and recordable from the window seat of an airliner flying at many thousands of feet above the earth. The beauty of those incredible photographs alone are worth the $40 price of the soft cover book.
But the part of Julieanne’s book that most captured my imagination was her creative thinking discussion. She explains that she is able to record and experience the beauty of all of these incredible digital photography images by being open and alert to the beauty life offers her from the unlikely vantage point of a window seat on a commercial airliner. Even though I am not a photographer, I feel I was able to apply all of her creative thinking ideas to enhance the way I experience and live my own life. Some of the headings from her creative thinking section speak for themselves such as: (i) Listen to what your life is telling you, (ii) Be open to whatever comes your way, (iii) Fix whatever you complain about the most.
I highly recommend that you take a trip with Julieanne Kost by reading her book. Sit next to her and talk with her like I felt I did and look over her shoulder and out her window and experience all the beauty and creativity she has to offer.
