The Preciousness of This Second

“A friend of mine is currently an inpatient in a stem cell transplant unit at a hospital in Rochester, NY.  She just went through her third transplant, this time from a donor whose cells were tranported from Paris.  It was a 100% perfect match.”

Sue’s only goal is to live!  She has 2 incurable cancers and has been receiving treatment for 18 months.”

Everyday I remind myself that life is fragile and how I choose to live it is the gift.  Breathe in life, exhale doubt.

Can you see that in this circumstance, which many might describe in tragic terms, there is light,  presence, grace, dignity, focus and love!

Wake Up Call, It’s Life

Each day as part of my morning ritual, I go to www.thebreastcancersite.com, read the story from today’s contributor and click the button, which through advertisers donates to free mammograms. The stories are all different and all the same in one way; there is a reverence for life and valuing the support of others as a basic ground of being.

I wonder why it takes the experience of possible death for us to truly appreciate life?
