There are people I do not see or speak to for days (and months in some cases) and yet it is as if it were yesterday when we speak.

A friend recently sent me a picture of a dog saved from a burning house by a fireman, previously unknown to the dog. The dog sat quietly after rescue for half an hour, about fifty feet from where the firemen finally chose to sit and rest. The dog raced over and kissed (think licked) him on the nose.
I wonder what that says about the ability of animals to feel? Think? Remember?
