Ending Hunger

When I began working on ending hunger and persistent starvation in the early 70s, over seventy thousand people a day died of these conditions. Today the number is down to thirty-five thousand a day.

How would it be if every time we ate out at a restaurant or fast food establishment we contributed an equal amount to ending hunger?

How do you think those meals would taste?

Life or Death

Ten days ago, a very dear friend of mine who is 87 had a three-artery bypass and valve replacement surgery on the same day. During these days, I have reminded myself consistently that things would turn out just the way they do and recognizing that this is the only second we have any guarantee of.

Today, my dear friend was truly present when I visited, he laughed and even made a joke!

Is there anything greater than the spontaneous gift of life?

Last Second

If this were the last second you had any guarantee of, how would you be spending it?

In actuality, it is the last second any of us have any guarantee of.

Are you doing the most important thing you could be doing?

A dear young friend works in the Navy Yard Building where the recent shooting took place.
She escaped without harm.

I have a hunch she knows the importance of this second?
