Presence

A couple of days ago, I went to the grocery store and the cashier in the checkout line had  an absolutely electric, genuine smile, asked how I was doing and really meant it. It was spectacular!

Need I say more?

More to Learn

It struck me full force, while watching the events in Washington this week, that the election of Barack Obama as President of the United States is about the character of a man, the strength of a family and sense of hope and possibility. I remember with the same sense of awe, the character of the parents of children who attended that first summer program that became Upward Bound. I wondered why these generous, gracious parents would trust anyone who looked like their oppressors?

Natural Knowing

A friend of mine has a 14 year old Lab named “Bella” who is showing degenerative signs.  Sue called her vet who told her that she would know when it was time to euthanize Bella by the look in Bella’s eyes.

I wonder how many times I/we truly look into someone’s eyes and see how they are feeling and what they are saying?

*Kelli is a dear friend of ours and we are honored to share her mindful moment with you.  We look forward to sharing moments from other dear friends in the future.  You are all invited to play!  Thank you, Kelli!
