According to Forbes magazine, the 400 richest people in the world hold assets equivalent to the assets of half of the population of the planet.
While I support freedom, capitalism and democracy, how will we explain to our children and grand children that given this statistic, roughly 40,000 people died needlessly today (and every day) from hunger and persistent starvation?
Knowing that the world is a miraculous experience adds perspective to life.
How would it be if this miraculous world did not include thousands of people dying each day needlessly from persistent hunger and starvation?
It is obviously possible to rebuild continents and countries with the will of the human spirit.
I wonder when and where we will address why we have not chosen to end shelter and hunger as issues for all people?
