One of the largest non-profit organizations I know (which has done some solid work in the past) just fired 100 people, not for cause, one of whom has worked for them for over 25 years, without any notice, cut off their e-mail, basically out the door and thank you very much.
The excuse given for the abrupt dismissal was that a few people in the past who were laid off had done things that were detrimental to the institution.
What do you think the chances are of this institution doing solid work in relationship to the well-being of anyone?

What will it take for us to finally understand that violence and damage are the result of violence and damage to which we all contribute. Until we accept responsibility for that which we endorse, encourage, ingest, ignore and justify, it will never change?
The other day I watched as a couple drove into the parking lot of a supermarket, parked and walked toward the store, only to return to the car fighting and shouting at each other, in and out of the car, for about ten minutes.
I wondered what it must have been like growing up in that house?
